A: Communi-T modules can be configured as “Web Part-Enabled”, allowing SharePoint to connect via a web part or SAP Portal via an iView.

A: Communi-T connects using our proprietary SAP certified connector via RFC calls to SAP.

A: Yes, Communi-T connects to SAP using a SAP user.

A: Yes, Communi-T can be fully integrated with Windows Active Directory when required and can be set up for single sign on capabilities.

A: Yes. The Communi-T user-portion of the database is encrypted using 128 bit AES encryption standards.

Q: Does Communi-T offer role-based security?
A: Yes. Communi-T’s User Management module, as well as, all access in the application is role-based.

A: Communi-T connects to SQL using named pipes on 1433.

Q: What is the recommended environment for Communi-T?

A: Communi-T requires Microsoft IIS versions 6+ and the .Net Framework 3.5 or higher. [more info]

A: Yes, the SQL database is defined at installation time. [more info]

A: Yes however the encrypted connection string will require an update to point to the new DB. [more info]

A: Yes, and as any other externally facing application, a well-secured public IP is required. [more info]

Q: Does Communi-T fully interface with SAP?
A: Yes. The power of Communi-T is allowing end-users to fully interface with SAP in real time. Create, Change and Display and report modules are all easily and rapidly developed using Communi-T’s platform.

Q: Can a user post a good’s receipt on his / her iPad using Communi-T?
A: Yes, why not! In fact we hope they’ll do more transactions than just a goods receipt!

Q: How does Communi-T interface with SAP?
A: Communi-T interfaces using standard SAP RFC/BAPI modules. Communi-T’s core differentiator is the ability to read and interpret core BAPI structures and “learn” how to interface with them in seconds!

Q: My company has modified standard BAPIs and is using several ZBAPIs. Will Communi-T function with these as well?
A: Yes. Communi-T interfaces with all properly developed SAP BAPIs. The BAPI’s should be coded to SAP specifications.

Q: How many BAPIs can Communi-T interface with in SAP?
A: How many BAPIs are in your SAP system?

Q: What happens if a BAPI is modified? Will Communi-T still work?
A: Yes. However a quick “Learn” will need to be performed in order to capture the changes made in the BAPI in Communi-T and validate the module integration (typically done in a few seconds!).

Q: What are Application Variables?
A: Communi-T uses Application Variables to help define the user experience. In other words, a user may have specific data associated with them and Communi-T helps in that process by assigning personalized data to users or passing the default variable, thus improving user-interfaces.
